Optus Message BoardThe Optus Message Board allows one to send text messages up to 160 characters long from their mobile phones to the scrolling LED signage located on the many faces of the East Shard located at Federation Square on the corner of Flinders and Swanston Street, Melbourne CBD. Optus said: "It's an excellent time and opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts and well-wishes with visitors to Federation Square". The SMS (Short Message Service) user will have their text message promptly screened and replied to with an automated message. Currently the reply may say "Thank you. Your SMS message will be seen on the Amber display". However this may be modified by Federation Square Management (FSM) to suit an occasion. Unless the message is rejected due to "inappropriate content" it will be displayed very soon after a reply comes through to your phone. FSM can also override individual groups to display a myriad of alternative messages such as event or promotional messages. Messages scroll across red, amber, green and blue wide angle LED signs of various lengths with a 150mm character height that can be read from up to 80 meters away. The Optus Message Board is available 24/7. Messages can be sent from any mobile network. Text your message to 19 767 333 (19 SMS FED) and your message will be displayed for all to see. Premium SMS charged at 55c incl. GST. |

Federation SquareComputronics scrolling LED displays have been used in the new Federation Square in Melbourne with fantastic results Computronics designed and manufactured a range of custom electronic displays for the new Federation Square building in central Melbourne. The project required a variety of sign types in both single and multi-line formats along with different colour LED requirements. The preferred colour options were red for the NGV center and yellow for ACMI center. In total over 165,000 individual LED modules have been used in this project. The signs were of varying character heights and special character fonts had to be developed along with a custom 10- pixel character. Computronics was faced with two key challenges that were critical to the success of the project. The first was to design a multimedia interface that could trigger sign messages to be displayed simultaneously with plasma and lighting effects. Secondly, the project called for scheduling and dimming capabilities, which gave it more improved functionality and better display flexibility. A modern communication system was vital to the smooth operation of the signs. Custom Calendar software was designed for both the NGV and ACMI centres which run on a site server enabling any user with password access to edit the sign messages. The LED signs are also connected to the same LAN providing ultimate flexibility and system integration. The displays blended well with the ultra modern design of the building and added a new and stunning visual dimension. |

World Duty Free Computronics were given the challenge of designing and building an intricate curved blue LED scrolling display at one of the main duty free stores at Heathrow Airport in the UK. This project consisted of designing and manufacturing a total of 11 custom electronic display sections. To ensure the electronic displays blended seamlessly into the intricate curvature of the counters design they needed to be designed and manufactured with precision. The results were both impressive and visually spectacular as subtle and clever use of LED technology clearly added a new visual dimension to the new counter. The counter display attracts instant attention and provides the store with a powerful marketing and promotional tool. This display can be seen from any angle and allows the shop to promote a range of products simultaneously. Special software was developed that allowed for the display of special graphics to enhance the overall effect. This is yet another example of Computronics ability to provide their client with a total complete turnkey solution. Specifications:

The Reasons Why LED Signs Work!!1. People actually read LED messages; being conditioned to seeing information at airports, cinemas, highways and train stations. 2. Clearly visible day or night and legible at greater distance than similar-sized illuminated signs. 3. Change messages, at no charge, whenever required. Static signs cost money to change.
Computronics products carry a 2 Year Warranty for service and parts. |
