Parking a car in Perth is getting easier to manage with the ongoing development and installation of electronic displays at the City of Perth Multi-Story Carparks.

August 2006 Computronics has been working with The City of Perth since 2004 developing an intelligent information system for their carparks around Perth. The City of Perth Carpark Project (CCP) currently covers approximately 7 multi-story carparks across Perth. There are about 50 LED displays within these complexes, which inform and instruct parking customers. This integrated system of displays allows better traffic flow and management of the facility. The LED displays are interconnected through a fibre-optic LAN backbone and managed from a PC at a central location at the Perth Convention Centre. The messages conveyed on the system inform customers whether the carpark is full, space availability (level, directions), cost of parking, exit directions, closing time and special event messages. Computronics is currently working with The City of Perth and the CCP to further optimise the parking display solution.
